No wonder most people don't have an accurate picture of the current energy profiles of the planet. The abundance of misleading info is overwhelming.

Here is an article presenting a 70 year old hydrogen cooling technique as if it was just invented.

Utter bullshit.

I've been using hydrogen cooled generators for 40 years. I have no idea what the hell they're talking about.

Read the article in it's entirety.

It's not just the technology, which they admit is old. But how it's implemented on the scale it's being used at.

Example:

1888 Flocken Elektrowagen
The first electric car was the 1888 Flocken Elektrowagen, a four-wheeled open carriage with a 1-horsepower electric motor, a rechargeable lead-acid battery and a top speed of 9 mph.

You can compare the 500MW hydrogen cooled generator as being a Tesla, and prior one's being a Flocken.

Same basic technology,

Well.... hydrogen cooling is usually used in the larger generators....steam driven turbo combos... And I think the gas turbine driven ones too. From 200 to 400 MW... admittedly I've never seen a 500 MW single.

As I said, old technology with new engineering is still a technology breakthrough.,

Look at wind power.

Dutch started building windmills as early as 1,200 AD. to use them grinding grains.

Now we have modern windmills. Based on 1,700 year old technology.
