LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — A child who was not vaccinated has died from measles in West Texas, the first death in an outbreak that began late last month and the first from measles in the U.S. since 2015.

The death was a “school-aged child who was not vaccinated” and had been hospitalized last week, the Texas Department of State Health Services said Wednesday in a statement. Lubbock health officials also confirmed the death, but neither agency provided more details. A news conference is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s office.

I find this article to be less than truthful.

Regardless of what someone thinks about vaccines, the law clearly prevents unvaccinated children from attending public school.

There are idiots out there that think that all vaccines are wrong. Luckily, they are not many of them.

Those who think that the Covid Vaccine is wrong are the smart ones, but vaccines like the measles are proven to work.

I've never received a measles vaccine because I had the measles when I was a baby.

I don't believe you. Those parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids are required to home school.

Immunization Exemptions Overview

Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §97.62 covers the conditions under which students can request an exemption from getting immunizations at their school or college. There are three conditions for exemption:
  1. If a health care provider determines that it is not safe for them to get a certain vaccine
  2. If they are in the United States military
  3. If they have a religious or personal belief that goes against getting immunized

All you have to do is say you have a personal belief that goes against getting immunized.

I wonder if the child was a migrant?

All constitutional rights. And it takes more than a personal belief, as your list shows.

So, a very small number.

We have an article that tells us one in how many millions have died from a childhood disease. It doesn't say how many millions, but it does say ONE CHILD.

It amounts to fearmongering.

How many illegals attended the school in question?

Sad story. The truth is, not all vaccines are equal. Ones that have had long-term testing and do not include MNRA are generally accepted as safe. The Covid vaccines are a entirely different story and the idiot left seems to forget that fact.

Who said a constitutional right? This is just what the Texas law says.

No, it doesn’t take more than a personal belief. You just have to write that you don’t believe in vaccines and the state gives you an exemption. Religious beliefs work too, and we’ve seen plenty of otherwise normal Christians claim that vaccines are against their religion, so even that doesn’t require much more than a claim.

Okay. Maybe it does take more. You have to send in a form.

But that’s basically it. It’s FAR from what you claimed, that it’s absolutely mandatory no exceptions allowed.
