2024 should have been a good year for the Democrats, especially in the Presidential election. Trump was a known quantity, and not very popular. Despite some recent off year election wins, the core problems for the Democrats remain. This party is primarily made up of a loose coalition of groups such as environmentalists, pro-choice reproductive advocates, labor leaders, women's rights activists, sexual and racial minorities. The operative word here is LOOSE. For example:

If the environmentalists feel their candidate isn't green enough, many will stay home and not vote.

If the pro-choice group feels their candidate isn't abortion friendly enough, many will stay home and not vote.

If the feminists feel their candidate isn't female friendly enough, many will stay home and not vote.

If the labor leaders feel their candidate isn't strike minded enough, many will stay home and not vote.

If the gays and lesbians feel their candidate isn't gay friendly enough, many will stay home and not vote.

- and the list goes on.

This short-sighted way of thinking ignores the fact that things will be considerably worse for them should a republican be elected. Bill Clinton was 100% correct back in the 90's when he said: "Getting Democrats to agree on a course of action is like herding cats"

Democrats - Its time opened your eyes and admitted that (love them or hate them) Republicans are more disciplined than you folks are when it comes to backing their party's candidates and making sure their vote counts. Until you folks get serious about getting more of your members to the polls, your struggles will continue. :disbelief:

"Give up all principles to win"

No thanks.

Drop the cultural crap completely, and re-focus like a laser beam on the middle class. That was the mistake.

No, you can't service both, because the cultural crap pisses off a lot of the middle class. It's one or the other.

Just focus on the middle class. Just do that. The cultural crap played a big role in the rise of Trumpism.

Neither party cares about the middle class.

You won. You just do not understand why there are problems. Then you got stupid with your agendas. And I am telling you. There are people who when our nation has an economic issue for any reason, are going to receive karma then if we do not change up somewhat.

Could be the fact that their candidates are shoved down their throats.
But its ok. There are still 70m of them that would vote for a dead monkey if the DNC told them too.
Hell, they kinda, sorta did with Joey bribem.

You won. The police state will destroy you depending on who is in charge. The man at a school board meeting controlled by Prog Socialist Communist feminist women who complained to them that his daughter was raped and was upset ended up having the police slam his head into the floor. You do not like ICE for some reason. And yet there are many variations of the police state. And you approve of some of them.

I see the Democrats' problem as the concentration of power within the DNC. Leadership in its quest to eliminate dissension within the party and present a united front has pushed the rank-and-file party members aside. This tight-knit inner circle of elite members deciding what's best for all isn't at all democratic.

Republicans are more disciplined

So, I don't see the Republicans as more disciplined. Seems to me that Republicans' way of handling election nominations is a more democratic process of empowering their members. This leads to their candidates having widespread support within the party and their rank-and-file feeling they're more part of the process.

Don't change.

Untrue.

President Biden stood on a picket line with striking laborers. He is the first sitting president to have done that in the history of the United States. Trump didn’t do it, and in fact he showed up at a non-union business barking bad things about labor, yet he was the one who they said connected with the working class. Historian Eric Loomis gave Biden a higher grade on his labor policies than any president since FDR. The Biden/Harris administration awarded 36 billion dollars to save the pensions of over 350,000 workers when they saved the Central States Pension fund. This fund paid the pensions for warehouse workers, construction workers, truck drivers and food processors. This looks like caring for the middle and working class to me.

Where in the hell do you guys get your information?

Biden and the Dems argued for years to make the rich pay their fair share.

How did he fund his infrastructure bill? Raising taxes on the middle class.

With "the rich" paying from 70-80%+ of the income tax revenue, would seem they are paying more than their "fair share".

15th post
He was speaking about armies at war with each other.
In the case of this nation, while two political factions have their conflicts and differences, the goal is a compromised "what's best for the nation".

In which case some of those "mistakes" can impact and have "downfall" on others, not just the other team/"enemy".
