Ammon Bundy, who led an armed, insurgent, anti–federal government land occupation, took 17% of Idaho vote for governor, only 3%less than Dem candidate

Though Trump himself is falling in GOP primary polls, the politics he introduced to the party continues to gain ground. Far-right candidates won a large majority of the races they ran in. Even the losers in these races did well, like Ammon Bundy

These results show sustained growth in support for far-right politics. While the lack of a GOP landslide is welcome, now is not the time to celebrate: there’s plenty of evidence that the Right is continuing to expand its appeal.

Mr. Bundy was involved in politics long before the Trumpster disembarked from the Golden Escalator.

And BTW, The Donald is hardly "far right". Instead, he is a pragmatic centrist who walks the walk, instead of just talking the talk.

And that's what infuriates the GOP Establishment, who has been fighting from Day One to get rid of the 74 million Little Trumpsters.

I read, but can't find it now, that John Dutton of "Yellowstone" is loosely based on Ammon Bundy.

Funny, you slander Bundy as having led an insurgency, but I never saw him arrested or prosecuted for anything of the kind?

Ammon Bundy represents the Sagebrush Rebellion ... that's a real thing in the High Desert communities ... and, yes, the Federal government has been "high-handed" with the settlers there in that god-awful desert ... the ranchers need time to adjust their operations, just taking back 10 sq miles of land will ruin them ... take back one sq mile per year and they can adjust ... and still save the grouse ...

Wrong ... he was acquitted of all charges in a Federal court-of-law ... and here's an EXCELLENT example of Federal "high-handedness" ... Federal prosecutors had all of them dead to rights on individualized charges ... and five years prison time for each and every one of them ... the jury said after the trial they were 100% convinced these guys broke these laws ...

Prosecutors wanted 20 years prison, so they charged them with conspiracy to do all those naughty things ... which the jury did not believe ... not one bit of fore-thought went into the actions that Saturday In Burns, Oregon* ... thus, they were all acquitted and are free to roam the nation and run for President ... ha ha ha ha ...

The Nevada case was dismissed with prejudice ... Federal prosecutors lied to the judge ...

* = "Take control from Washington DC and give it to Portland, Oregon" is the opposite of what they wanted ... proof positive they never gave it thought beforehand, let alone discuss it with anyone ...

Much of what you post makes no sense.

Ammon Bundy is from Idaho - no where near any desert. It's not Palmdale in California. What the feds did was cattle rustling. The BLM under Obama closed grazing land in northern Nevada that had been available for 150 years - but the confrontation wasn't over the closure, the BLM stole the Bundy cattle. Cliven Bundy sent his son down to retrieve the cattle Obama stole. The movement grew out of the war that Obama was waging on ALL ranchers, from Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.

Remember, this was during the Obama war on beef, the "cow farts bad" idiocy. Obama failed to grasp the resolve of the old west.

No one was charged with "insurrection" or any other bullshit. The charges were "Interfering with a seizure order" and even the far left 9th court of appeals threw it out.

I take it you've never been to Idaho ... averages less than a foot of rain per year ... semi-arid ... the only thing the land is good for is grazing cattle ... and you can't graze much cattle on semi-arid lands ...

What confuses people is all the high-yield agricultural production ... but that's from irrigation out of the Snake River, which drains the high Rockies in the area ... Montana, Idaho and yes, Oregon carries a portion of these Rocky Mountains ...

Here we go ... Jordan Valley in the southeast part of Oregon averages 2.24 inches of rain per year ... pure unadulterated desert ...

=====

The battles in southern Nevada between the Bundys and BLM are just the most recent episode of this long running battle ... I guess you know nothing about the Hammond's ... but "Obama evil, Bubba doesn't need to finish Middle School" ...

Cattle ranching in Harney County predates the 1908 establishment of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, with some cattle trails, including those used by the Hammond family, dating back to the 1870s. Disputes between cattle ranchers and the federal government over management of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge have gone on for "generations" and the situation has regularly deteriorated to taunts and threats directed at federal officials from ranchers since at least the early 1970s.

Yeah, my mother moved to nearby Baker Country in the 1970's ... I've partied with ranchers and gubbermint officials ... it's 75 miles between gas stations, maybe 25 miles between bars, folks have to get along with each other ...

Ah, the good old debate topic of "make shit up."

Yeah, you're utterly full of shit. Idaho which borders Washington State, Canada, and Montana. The southern part of the state is grasslands - good for grazing, The northern portion is mountains and Alaska level cold.

Idaho’s mountainous topography produces an extremely diverse climate pattern. In general, as elevation increases, precipitation increases and mean temperatures drop. On a different scale, the high mountains in eastern Idaho tend to hold back the cold winter air that predominates in Montana and Wyoming, giving the state higher mean temperatures than are found at the same latitude and elevation in those states and in more mid-continental locations. Mean January temperatures range from the upper 10s F (about −8 °C) at Deadwood Dam in the central mountains to the low 30s F (about −1 °C) at Orofino in the central panhandle. July temperatures range from about 60 °F (16 °C) at Deadwood Dam to the upper 70s F (about 25 °C) at Grand View in the southwest.

Idaho is situated in the rain shadow of mountains to the west in Washington and Oregon, and only the higher elevations receive adequate amounts of precipitation. Most of the Snake River plateau receives less than 10 inches (250 mm) of precipitation annually, making it the driest part of the state. At the other extreme, large sections of the Northern Rockies record annual totals of more than 50 inches (1,250 mm) of precipitation, much of it in the form of snow.}

Hey, if the facts aren't on your side, just make shit up, right?

Have you lived there? ... you didn't answer so I'll assume you've never been there ... and look at a map, see where Oregon borders Idaho ... that's where I visited several times a year since the 1970's ... partied with the ranchers who work the land there ... hunted coyote for the bounty in those hills ... acted like we were mining gold ... fished, hunted, rolled vehicles into the ditches ...

IT'S A STINKING DESERT ... asshole ... why do you think the Feds protect Malheur Marshland from cattle? ... dipshits like you don't understand raising cattle in the desert ... you know, where there isn't much water ... go ahead and deceive yourself, the one you hate the most is yourself ...

Funny looking desert.

I'd fly in to Spokane, then drive to Cordelaine, which looks like this.

Then on to Bonners Ferry - which is the top photo.

Bullshit someone else.
