I saw her talking about it on several talk shows. The point is to keep people from being ashamed of the problem and actually work on resolving it.

I don't think she is much of an idol. She did all the wrongs things. Unmarried illiterate teen dropout with children is a sure-fire recipe for poverty. She fell into riches and could have just let it stand there...

I cannot fault the woman for admitting, then working to resolve, a problem and at the same time working to bring more awareness to adult illiteracy.
