Amazon and Import Charges

Hi all,

We see that Amazon has backed down from publishing import charges on orders in the US.

I am not complaining about Trump, he is a politician and he want bad news buried. Fair enough, that is game ball...
But Amazon have a worldwide policy tout any Government imposed import charges at check out...

Here is a checkout from UK to Ireland, there is duty due to Brexit.. Called 'Import Fee Deposit', it is a deposit because Amazon charge up front and pay it for you for convenance.

This is for transparency... Amazon (or any orther retailer) want to make it clear what your Government are charging you to get this product.
Everyone in the world gets this transparency, it is treated like paying any tax. You are informed of tax you are paying

EXCEPT iF YOU ARE US. US CITIZENS HAVE A SEALTH TAX... It will not appear on the line, it will be well hidden.

This is not because of Trump but because of Bezo... Trump may have wanted it but it was Bezo decision.

Do you find it acceptable that Americans are paying a tax that is being hidden from them?
