Dear Valued AMAC Member,
Today we filed a formal complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on behalf of our organization's 1.2 million members. We took this action in response to revelations that CNN contributor Van Jones described his network's Trump-Russia collusion story as a "nothing burger" while CNN supervising producer John Bonifield admitted it was "bulls***." And this is days following the resignation of three CNN reporters who admitted to publishing a false story.
According to FCC regulations, the agency "may issue penalties for knowingly broadcasting false information." "As public trustees," the FCC specifies, "broadcasters may not intentionally distort the news. The FCC has stated publicly that 'rigging or slanting the news is a most heinous act against the public interest.'"
I call on you with the preservation of truth and civil, democratic disclosure to join me and the rest of the Association of Mature American Citizens by filing your own complaint to the FCC.
Please feel free to use my letter below as an example for your complaint.
Regards,
Dan Weber, AMAC President
Dear Mr. Chairman,
As an organization representing more than 1.2 million American seniors, we wanted to formally register a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission and to ask that serious consideration be given to revoking CNN's license to broadcast.
While we understand that the FCC cannot interfere with news and commentary, it does have the power, according to its charter, to "issue penalties for knowingly broadcasting false information." As recent coverage has revealed, Mr. Zucker and the executives at CNN do this repeatedly and willfully. To cite some examples:
We hope you will move quickly if not to revoke CNN's license to broadcast its fake news on America's airwaves, then to begin an investigation into whether CNN is abusing the public trust.

Dear Mr. Chairman,
As an organization representing more than 1.2 million American seniors, we wanted to formally register a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission and to ask that serious consideration be given to revoking CNN's license to broadcast.
- Three CNN employees were fired over a story linking Trump associates to Russia that was subsequently found to be lacking any sources;
- CNN reported the existence of a dossier of then-candidate Trump, which has been debunked;
- One of CNN's leading on-air personalities, Van Jones, was allegedly caught on tape admitting that CNN's coverage of Russia is a "nothing burger" motivated by ratings;
- CNN's president, Jeff Zucker, is known to have a longstanding relationship with the President that appears to have turned into a personal vendetta on taxpayer-funded airwaves.
We hope you will move quickly if not to revoke CNN's license to broadcast its fake news on America's airwaves, then to begin an investigation into whether CNN is abusing the public trust.
