Allow me to make an audacious suggestion. Albeit one that's a bit tardy.

Trump ramps up attacks on left, Democrats after Kirk assassination

In a four-minute video posted hours after Kirk was shot, Trump said years of attacks from the left comparing figures like Kirk to Nazis was “directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.”

When co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked Trump how the country can come together, noting there are “radicals” on both the right and the left, Trump defended those on the right as concerned about crime, while condemning those on the left as “vicious” and “horrible.”

On Sunday, Trump again insisted the problem “is on the left.”

“When you look at the agitators, you look at the scum that speaks so badly of our country, the American flag burnings all over the place, that’s the left, that’s not the right,” Trump said.

Trump calls his opponents 'scum' and lawbreakers in bellicose speech at Justice Department

President Donald Trump on Friday walked into the Department of Justice and labeled his courtroom opponents “scum,” judges “corrupt” and the prosecutors who investigated him “deranged.”

With the DOJ logo directly behind him, Trump called his political opponents lawbreakers and said others should be sent to prison.

trump is no one whose vitriolic rhetoric you should want to copy. His approach shouldn't be anyone's example of how to behave in civil society. Parents don't raise their kids to be petulant and vindictive. Americans never embraced politicians who are, before now.

To the extent national leaders set the tone for the country, Don's tone needs to be rejected in the strongest possible way. Not copied.

This is obviously the opposite of presidential leadership, but any notion that he has ever been "a President for all Americans" has been a farce from the beginning.

He simply doesn't have the capacity. He is now, literally, a President who has clearly chosen sides against half the country. Just another first for Donald Trump.

Did Trump say one word about the killings of the Minn lawmaker and his wife?

Or the firebombing of the Dem Governors house in PA?

No?

Oh

Let's see if we have this correct. It would appear that your contention is as follows:

1. TRUMP!, or anyone on the right saying the left needs to tone down the rhetoric after decades of not only violent speech, but actual violence being meted out to those on the right is double plus ungood.
2. At the same time, you, or anyone on the left saying the right needs to tone down the rhetoric because of mean tweets is teh triple goodness.

Is that about the size of it? You'd be more credible on the subject if you included some of the incendiary rhetoric belching forth from the left side of the aisle, but that's glaringly absent.

It reminds one of a president angrily waving his fists against a bloodred backdrop, ranting about the dangers posed by those who dared to not vote for him. But that would never happen, would it?

Tone down the rhetoric?

Have you noticed the rhetoric following Kirk’s killing?

What's wrong with opposing left wing violence. They are scum

I certainly have. There are people losing their jobs because they have the social filter of a 3-year-old and demand more violence be done against those who dare to think differently.
So you missed all the rhetoric demanding retribution?

I have seen no rioting, looting, burning, assaulting. Not like we have seen in the past from the usual suspects. That's the difference. Apparently, some are willing to use resolve to actually accomplish some things instead of destroying their own neighborhoods.

But I have seen rhetoric demanding more violence be done against those who say things like Charlie did. That's pretty vile.

They don't see a thing. I think they literally block it out, or pretend it's something else.

And they try to equate Biden with Trump, while Trump says and posts divisive shit MULTIPLE times, EVERY SINGLE DAY.

They want as much division as possible. Opposing ideas are evil to them. They think they're at war with evil.

America's jihadis.

So you missed the attack on the CDC
The firebombing of Shapiro’s home
The killing of the Minn lawmaker and his wife
The hammer attack on Pelosi’s husband

You miss a lot… because you want to

The Left and the OP are tone deaf. The slanders against Trump are constant, vicious, and largely based on distortions of what he says and does. "We" are so accustomed to seeing and reading them that we no longer notice them.

Saying that Trump needs to tone it down is preposterous.
