Here's the latest

• US President Donald Trump hailed a “dawn of a new Middle East” in remarks before the Israeli parliament today after Hamas freed all living hostages and Israel released Palestinian prisoners under the US-brokered ceasefire deal. Trump is now headed to Egypt for a summit on Gaza’s future alongside other world leaders.

• The 20 remaining living hostages in Gaza were returned to Israel earlier today after two years of war. The bodies of 28 hostages who are presumed dead are still in the enclave. The release of 250 Palestinian prisoners serving long and life sentences is also now underway under the deal, as is the release of more than 1,700 Palestinian detainees from Gaza held by Israel without charge since the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023.

It is a day of celebration, clearly.

Also, perhaps a day of truthfulness? I applaud CNN for saying "since the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023." Lately, they have been using the misleading phrase "since Israel's war in Gaza started."

I wish each of the Arabs of Palestine being returned also a long, peaceful, and prosperous life.

I have reason to suspect Trump will live to regret all the hoopla.

Hell, Hamas is already killing each other off in the rubble, just a matter of time before they expand that to the Israelis.

IMHO Israel gave up too much....Do the terrorists they are letting out get an AK with their discharge packet?

Qatari involvement in the 2025 deal: Qatar resumed mediation efforts to help facilitate the U.S.-brokered agreement announced in October 2025, with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani continuing to serve as a key communicator with Hamas.

Man the people of Israel love Trump. He just received a standing ovation in Israel Parliament (they have a different term for it of course).

They know he is a man bringing back Judeo-Christian values to the world and they know it was he and he alone who demanded the end to this war and the return of hostages.

He received a loud cheer from the citizens of Israel while Bibi unfortunately was loudly booed. Trump did his best to stand up for Bibi and I will say he dealt with the broader enemies in Israel, Hezbollah, Hamas etc.

He probably should have taken a more precision like approach over the last nine months, but one might also argue it was the ongoing pressure of the IDF that forced the hand. It was really costing Trump political capital to stick to the side of Bibi and you know that Bibi had to know this.

I believe that this will lead eventually to a Palestinian State in Gaza. I have always opposed that for one reason: It would mean an anti-Zionist state adjacent to Israel, with other nations having the right to provide as much non-lethal and lethal aid as it choses.

But Trump and Netanyahu have now treated Hamas as statesmen, and I don't believe they can put that genie back in the bottle. Perhaps they will step up to the plate, so to speak and act like statesmen.

The enterview with Mausa Abu Marzouk may be a good sign.

A heated on-air confrontation erupted Friday night on the Emirati-funded Al Ghad television channel when senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk angrily cut off a live interview after being pressed with tough questions about the Oct. 7 attacks and the devastating impact of the war on Gaza.

Abu Marzouk, one of Hamas’ founding members, sought to justify the group’s actions, saying Hamas had “fulfilled its national duty.” He added that “we did what reality imposed upon us — resistance to occupation, against oppression, settlements and the imprisonment of our people in Israeli jails.”

He doesn't want to be perceived as a barbarian, he wants to be seen as a leader of a legitmate nation. Maybe Hamas will act like it. Maybe.

But if the Palestinian state attacks Israel, then Israel will be justified in destroying them.

I congratulate Trump

But it took him nine months. Kamala Harris would have gotten a deal in 30 days.
She must have done something really special for you to have this much confidence in her. Name ONE deal that Kamala has accomplished ever. Oh, thats right, you are full of shit and you cant name ANY deal she has ever made happen, let alone a deal that was made in record time.

How much does it suck that your only ammunition in political debates is by telling complete falsehoods? Your party is so consistently and obviously wrong that you can only compete here by weakly selling bullshit lies. You just throw your integrity away on a daily basis without any shame whatsoever. I dont get it. :dunno:

Harris who cant articulate a thought and continued Bidens policies would have made the war last longer. Any idea that she could have caused peace is laughable.

Trump said it would take a day

Kamala would have gotten peace six months ago
We should have elected her

Trump succeeded Obama and Biden failed Harris who accomplished nothing would have continued her pattern of failure.

He is such a failure that he has billions, while you just whine like a little ***** on an obscure forum.

She was also VP and under her watch these hostages got taken, Hamas invaded Israel, Putin invaded Ukraine, inflation skyrocketed, interest rates skyrocketed, our border was surrendered to cartels, record numbers of illegals poured in, record Covid deaths, which all lead to a majority of the country worse off then she was elected

Kamala Harris would have won a Nobel Peace Prize by now
