As a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's he was a person that was well known and followed. He doesn't seem to get the acknowledgement as some IMO but one of the best.

Sorry to hear about Al Unser's death. Although I'm surprised it was from cancer- I saw the speed he drove at and thought he'd meet his end in an auto accident.
