While most think the movie Airplane was a satire based on the Airport movies of the 70s, it is directly taken from the 1957 movie Zero Hour.

The plot and dialogue are almost identical

There haven't been any truly original movies

Dana Andrews played a character named "Lt. Ted Stryker" in the movie "Zero Hour."

Robert Hays played a character named "Ted Striker" in the move "Airplane."

What makes you think there are any similarities? I don't see it.

Guess you are right.

Must be a coincidence

Yup, just happenstance. Never happen again in a thousand years.

The scene in Zero Hour with Joey going to the cockpit and getting a toy airplane was creepy
