Running a small business means occasional calls to tech support to clear up issues that inevitably arise. Usually, 30-60 seconds with a live human being is all it takes; now we get (stupid name) your virtual AI assistant. In addition to not fixing anything (stupid name) takes 45 min. and asks for the same information no less than 5 times, taking one back to the main menu each time. Is this really what tech firms are dumping hundreds of billions of dollars into? Sometimes I wish were back in the days of ledger sheets and card file box's!!

Sorry - I just had to vent....

I don't blame you. What I hate are the AI solicitors who try to pretend they are a real person.

When I talk to someone, the first thing I ask is "Are you a machine?" If the person laughs I know I'm dealing with a real person.

That's just end user annoyance. There are massive power and water sucking AI data centers popping up everywhere. The companies building the centers pay off the local authorities and get their plans approved with flimsy, nebulous statements about minimizing impact to the local communities. Who thinks that will end well? Not me.

Yeah, AI sucks and it'll be the death of humans. Giving decisions to idiots is bad, giving to to a computer that is working based off an algorithm is even worse.

No jobs for people, and everything is super annoying.

While I certainly don't disagree with your sentiment, the problem is not AI. The problem today is the same that it has always been, individuals who don't know how to configure a tool optimally to get the best results.

AI IS just a tool.

Ai is good but not for CS, amazon has their virtual assistant that can't answer your question, it just
goes back to square one and asks again

that is NOT Ai though, it's shitty coding and a broken learning process

co-pilot and gemini give me the exact right answer to all questions

amazon and other's that use it for CS need to fine tune it
