Current scam looks very authentic.

Victim receives a notification that he needed to approve a Gmail account recovery attempt. A message saying that you need to approve a login attempt or password change, real or fake, is how many scams start. If you don't respond you'll receive a call from a "Google" phone number. The "tech" is actually an AI voice.

Just remember Google doesn't call personal account holders. You can also check your recent logins via Security in your account page.

Maybe the biggest tip-off was that Google support (or any other tech support for that matter) will not contact you out of the blue to tell you there's a problem. If something seems fishy, it's always best to err on the safe side and end communication until you can figure out more.

Gmail users, beware of new AI scam that looks very authentic

Probably Sarah. Seriously, back in the day, we could copy a webpage, add the javascript uploader code,
host it on a free site and make it look like the original page, and if you click on it, you're fucked.
