"after tribal leaders and a provincial council negotiated the safe exit of civilians along with the surrender of local militants and family members."
Local militants? And their family members? How do these people threaten the United States again?
U.S.-backed forces in Syria begin final assault on Raqqah after scores of militants surrender
Because the US pretends it's the world police?
Wait, no, that's not it. It's that it doesn't like having Assad next door to Iraq.
So that's why we invaded Iraq? Because Assad was next door and we needed to create ISIS so that tribal leaders would have someone to negotiate with in case Assad became a Kurd? I think I'm starting to see...
Well, the first reason for invading Iraq was because OPEC was getting stronger. Before Iraq there was the coup in Venezuela funded by the US govt against Hugo Chavez, trying to cut off the head of the rejuvenation of OPEC. Taking out Saddam reduced the anti-American crowd of OPEC down to 3. Iran, Venezuela and Libya. Now that's two and a half because Libya's gone a little crazy, but it's not strong enough to fight with OPEC any more. So, Iraq and Venezuela, both of them are now on Trump's travel ban. Who ever heard of Iranians or Venezuelans carrying out terrorist attacks in the US?
The post war "effort" at reconstruction is a hard one because the evidence just isn't there as to whether Bush deliberately caused major problems in Iraq in order to boost Islamic extremism. It could have been that he did this in order to justify his invasion of Iraq, make it look like Islamic extremism and al Qaeda were in Iraq. It could have been to promote right wing interests with less stability and security in the world, getting the European allies behind them again after the drifting in the 1990s.
But we'll probably never know as such things won't have been recorded down and those few people in the know aren't going to say anything.
