No it didn't. Everything Trump did INCREASED the number of illegal border crossings: The numbers don't lie. In 2019 Trump declared a National Emergency on the Southern Border and that has never been lifted. The ONLY reason numbers went down in 2020 was covid, but with the droughts and gang violence in Central America worsening, it's unrealistic to think it won't continue.

And while you're at it, try looking at Obama's numbers - much, much lower than Trump's. That's because Obama prosecuted employers. With no jobs waiting for them with big Republican donors, they stop coming. Plus you get the fines and penalties which recovers enforcement costs, and oversight of convicted employers going forward to prevent a re-occurrence.

Republican administration refuse to prosecute employers or uphold oversight orders and billions chasing illegals around the desert, and holding them in custody pending deportation. Trump had more than 40,000 in concentration camps @ $700 per day, per prisoner. But no charges against any of the employers, even as their pulling hundreds of illegals out of their processing plants.
