After months of debate, Maryland’s Hate Crimes Commission has expelled CAIR from a seat after its chairperson posted blatantly antisemitic messages on social media following the October 7th massacre of Jews. One of her messages promoted the HAMAS lie that Jews were harvesting the organs of dead Palestinians.
The Commission planned to replace her with another CAIR representative, but the Middle East forum presented witnesses who recounted the antisemitism at a CAIR event, in which speakers promoted hate speech against other faiths and blamed the Jews for 9/11. That and other testimony convinced the Maryland commission that antisemitism was inherent in CAIR and that the replacement would be a Muslim without any connections to that group.
