It was a privilege to watch this. Exceptionally well produced, scientifically accurate and just completely pleasurable to view! Do yourself a favor take some time, relax, sit back and be entertained by some of the finest work of science education you are likely ever to experience!

This is known as Pop Science not science.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 2 Peter 3:10 (NIV)

I don't know about that..... There were plenty of accurate statistics presented there. I think it's a great introduction to the more technical aspect.

Sorry .
But the first minute told me everything I do not wish to hear .

It's obviously based on Grit Theory or Particle Physics .
Unfortunately Consciousness is Universe .
Not Grit .

Consciousness can be transformed into Grit but the Singular was not Grit -- Proton , Photon or any other sort of Ton .

It is deliberate establishment nonsense , and over here of the type that Brian Cox has been inserted to popularise .
Our version of Michio Kaku , if you like .

Keeps the Sheeple away from ZPE which feeble minded Gritters will tell you is an impossibility -- though extremely useful for our space hopping fellows we call Aliens .

Understood

Obviously not ... we're asking for the "TL;DW version" ... if you understood the video, then you can give us the Reader Digest version? ...

What little I watched had this "Lil' Bo Peep has lost her sheep" flavor ... po' lil' br'er proton ... if this is trying to explain the 3rd Law of Thermodynamics, a br'er proton is the wrong particle to consider ... that's a highly ordered br'er baryon composed of yet smaller particles called br'er quarks ... and what? ... br'er electrons get no love? ... the beginning just reeks of science fiction is all I'm saying ... does the video explain br'er degenerate matter? ... and what are they speculating exists within br'er black holes? ...

There's 10,000,000,000,000,000 bare naked br'er protons in a tablespoon of water ... why should we care about just one? ...

I'm using the word Understood to indicate that I get it as far as not wanting to spend an hour on one thing.
I am much the same way myself.

The video is an abstract analysis of time versus entropy progression. If it were to be ultimately accurate it would probably need to be renamed the last quark but I think more people are familiar with the word Proton. If the current understanding of the rules of thermodynamics are indeed accurate then all is subject to the final decompression of the accelerating expansion of space/time which demands the ultimate deconstruction of all solid matter in a form of universe wide cosmic evaporation.

Who knows if this is the correct version? Pretty much all sciences are theory.

I think what the author was trying to do is simplify the scientific concept behind the theory without filling up a blackboard with complex equations and chalk dust.

The best we can state right now is as time approaches infinity, the universe will approach "final decompression", or more accurately approach a temperature of absolute zero ... still up to the philosophers to decide if time is infinite or not ...

Or if it even exists.

Sorry.... I know I felt the same way when I started listening to it but I'm telling you it's so good and of such high quality you may find that the time simply flies.
Doom Dummies

Miserable geeks wallow in pessimism. I believe that truly intelligent people, as opposed to those whining frauds, will discover how to prevent the Death of the Universe by then. There is plenty of time to evolve towards a happy future.

Or...the Big Bang is the sciency version of Genesis: everything was created at a specific moment, and nothing existed before then. Now that the Big Bang model is the accepted gospel, physicists must make the data fit the model. What refuses to fit may get a mysterious label, such as "dark matter." And then it all ends apocalyptically, far enough in the future that scientists will never be proven wrong when it doesn't happen.

As Christianity ages out and is replaced, the specific beginning and eventual end of the universe model may also be dropped. A universe that will always exist with new stars forming from the dust of old stars may become the new model.

It seems that the James Webb telescope has pretty much trashed the Big bang.

Not sure what they'll latch on to next.
