Some with partisan biases seem to like to entertain generalized stereotypes about America's cities.

Let's compare/contrast, with a bit of statistical data, two comparably-sized but decidedly disparate state capitols.

Boston, Massachusetts has a population of 650,706.
Oklahoma City is a bit larger. with 694,800.
Boston is the capitol of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, consistently ranked as the best-educated state in the nation.
Oklahoma City is the capitol of the State of Oklahoma, and is distinguished by having the now defunct Route 66 running through it.
In Massachusetts, the Democratic Party controls the offices of governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and both US senators are Democrats.
Both chambers of the state legislature are controlled by Democrats.
In Oklahoma, the Republican Party controls the offices of governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and both US senators are Republicans.
Both chambers of the state legislature are controlled by Republicans.
In 2024, Boston recorded 24 homicides.
In 2024, Oklahoma City recorded 78 homicides.
The crime rate in the Boston area is 20.30 per 1,000 residents in the typical year.
The crime rate in the Oklahoma City area is 38.55 per 1,000 residents in the typical year.
In 2024, Boston reported 2 gun-related homicides.

Gang related violence.
Law enforcement claims Oklahoma City has traditionally been the territory of the notorious Juárez Cartel, but the Sinaloa Cartel has been reported as trying to establish a foothold in Oklahoma City. There are many rival gangs in Oklahoma City, one whose headquarters has been established in the city, the Southside Locos, traditionally known as Sureños.

OKC? Why not compare Boston to Chicago? Doesn't fit the narrative?
Or Marrakesh?

Two state capitols of similar size with one party rule is far more suitable for comparative purposes.

You could go all down comparing this and comparing that.

The problem is the US has a much higher murder rate, gun murder rate, road death rate than other first world countries.

Why?
