I don't really understand the reasoning for this. Then again, I don't understand the reasoning for three minute hugs either.

mom is dead. i hug my wife. only. anyone else moving in gets the side step.

It is pretty simple really...it is about space.

"There's only so much space we have in that drop-off area. Too many people are spending too much time with their fonder farewells at the drop-off sign. There's no space for others,"

Other people cannot pull up and drop off their passengers due to this.

Yeah I'm not much of a hugger either but this was just too strange of a rule for multiple reasons.

What reasons?

Say you long goodbyes and hugs before you get in the car, not while other people are waiting

If you get out and hug for three minutes at the drop-off at Logan, the staties will run your ass out.

If you're hugging for more than 3 minutes, you need to get a room.

I understand the sign and the purpose of it, but where it was posted is what is baffling.

Just how busy can it get in New Zealand?

Is there anything on this planet that doesn't have any kind of restriction? The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the headline were people going off to war.

God bless you and them and their families always!!!
