Goto work tomorrow and share the word ******* with your co-workers and then report your findings here to the rest of us SANE people.
I refuse to punish anyone for saying something stupid when they were young. What matters is how they act when they grow up. If we hold Dean in contempt for saying that a long time ago, then why would the Dems have tolerated Sen. Byrd for being a bigwig in the KKK?
There should be some kind of statute of limitations on stupidity. I worry more about what they are like as a person TODAY.
Just a few years ago, Biden claimed that Obama was the first black candidate that was clean and articulate. Really. If he believed what he was saying, then apparently he was more or less calling other blacks dirty and stupid. Could easily be read that way. Was it really a compliment or just a backhanded insult?
Blacks use the "n" word a lot and I do wish they'd stop. Children will hear it and increase the likihood of it slipping out in the future. They keep the word alive.
We really should worry more about actions than words. Sticks and stones.................
While people are up in arms over a past comment, there are far more serious things that are real and we should focus on the present and the future.
I'd rather be called the "n" word or half breed than some of the words used here on a daily basis. I am a bigger mutt than my dog, so could easily take offense to many different slurs. Fortunately, I don't allow idiots or mere misspeaks to ruin my day. I've lost count of the posters who called others shit stains and worse. Juvenile posters probably still snicker every time they type "teabaggers." It's all just words and unless a person is seriously making a threat or in a position to make life miserable for others, just brush it off for heaven's sake.
I hate it when people are just looking for ways to be offended. Instead of the media ganging up on Dean, maybe they can cover something of substance and let the minor stuff go. If people can forgive Biden's blatant racist remarks as a VP candidate, they can surely forgive a TV chef who uttered a word years ago.
