I admire the generation, I just get tired of Europeans taking victory laps on the backs of the 3oo,ooo Americans who gave their lives to protect them.

Maybe people get tired of you taking victory laps on the back of 26 million Soviet people, and what evidence do you have that Europeans take victory laps on the back of 300,000 Americans, i have visited Normandy several times and the Netherlands to pay respects to the vets including many Americans i have met on my visits, and it's just a fact Britain stood alone for a while from 1939 including the Battle of Britain, so what the hell are you talking about? and you don't respect that generation you insulted Brits and Irish.
