This came from Drew Curtis' FARK with a link to Deslided: 50 Best Tacos in America (Slideshow) | Slideshow | The Daily Meal

New York City? :eusa_whistle: Chicago? :eusa_whistle: You gotta be kidding me? :eusa_whistle: I went through the entire list and NONE of them really got my tongue watering. This one -ALMOST – came close:

Meh. More places have good tacos than restaurants in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Austin.

Best tacos I've ever had were in southern California at the small, ma & pa stands run by Mexican nationals.

Small; double tortilla; perfectly seasoned/sauteed meat; a little cilantro; a sprinkle of chopped onions; diced tomatoes; some white, Cotija cheese; and some perfectly blended, green chili sauce. Pretty much like the picture below.

Avocado Cream Sauce:

¼ cups Snipped Cilantro
4 cloves Minced Garlic
1 teaspoon Kosher Salt

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
In the bottom of a large crock pot, mix salsa, green chilies, brown sugar and black beans. Add the pork roasted (salted with Kosher salt) and cook on low for 6-8 ours or high for 4-6. Take the meat out of the crockpot and shred with 2 forks. Return to pot and mix with sauce and beans. Leave lid off as you continue making supper to cook away some of the juices.
To make the avocado cream sauce, slice green onions, mash 2 avocado, add lime, sour cream, snipped cilantro, garlic and salt.
To serve:
Scoop sweet pork into baked hard shell. Top with a dollop of avocado cream sauce and shredded lettuce and green onions.
Serve with cherry tomatoes on the side.
Dig in to these fresh, easy, DELICIOUS tacos! YUM!

The best Mexican I've had was in Tucson. Its the real thing instead of what we Americans have come to accept as "Mexican food".

Exactly. I love how these self important people think they know so much. When he hits every city in the country he might have a position to speak from.

Best tacos are in Mexico City at the outdoor taco stands. They prepare the tacos right in front of you using fresh ingredients.

We have those guys all over Houston. They dont speak English for shit, but damn do they make good tacos.
My favorites have to be fish tacos and fajita's. I say fajita's because most Americans think throwing something in a corn or flower tortilla makes it a taco.

The best:

A full slice of American cheese and the whole thing deep fried in its own shell, those things are trailer park soul food!

Every now and then, I seriously get a hankerin for those greaseball bastard tacos. Usually past 3 AM on nights that I struck out at the bar, tho sometimes even if I didn't lol. Sometimes, 2 for a buck jacks tacos are the best appetizer before fish tacos :)
