4.88's in the Tundra

But I did need more clearance for the truck due to some of the trails I travel to get to fishing holes.

And you have to admit it looks a hell of a lot better.....

Naah...now it just looks like a bunch of other pavement queens. 5" lift to clear 35s...wow.

Then why did you buy a mall-terrain truck, instead of something with actual off-pavement ability?

Seriously?! Geez, I could tow that with my car! I never realized the FJ was that bad.

The trailer,Polaris and gear weigh in at around 4200 lbs.
Max towing on the FJ is 5000 lbs.
If you've ever done any trailering than you'd know that while it may be able to tow the max it's a bad idea to do it.

And what kind of car do you own?

Crown Vic...5000lb capacity. I've towed right at or over the tow rating on every truck I've owned.

Most HD trucks are rated for towing more than the GVWR. I towed 11,000+ with my F350.

Only in theory. It has no chance of actually doing it if properly loaded...the tongue weight of a 5 ton trailer will put it over the GVWR and probably rear axle rating.

Actually Toyota was the first to give certified tow capacities. And the truck has the tow package with 4.30 gears, trailer brake controls, tow haul setting, the largest rotors in its class as well as a trans cooler paired with auto anti sway in case things get squirrelly.
But as I said and you appear to agree, that towing at max cap is unwise.
