They have the makings of a good show.
The series follows convicted felons in their last 24 hours of freedom before they go to prison.
There are interesting moments in this series, but Discovery falls short for 2 reasons.
After you take out commercials (which thankfully I don't see) they need to provide about 42 minutes of content.
They don't. They repeat the exact same scene you see right before a commercial, again after the commercial. So you rewatch about 6 minutes of the same exact content. It is crazy.
They have clearly scripted the conversations, there is no doubt of this. Instead of just letting a conversation happen, you can tell the producers talk to the people first, then tell them what to say - it may indeed be their own words, but you can tell they are repeating what they have already said - and that kills the emotion of those words.
