I picked this semi-auto up the other day for $300 with the intent to clean it up and use it as trade fodder.
Having been used to sighting-in scores of the older 740s for the old Fudds that would come by the hunt club on "sight-in day" I had my fill of ill-mounted see-thru mounts, and jams due to poor maintenance, (mostly no cleaning of the internals) and such with the 740.
Right away (after cleaning) I noticed that the 7400 operated much smoother than the 740, well that was a plus and the fact it had a nice set of steel Leopold mounts and rings I thought I would give it a go. There was no scope so I tossed a fixed 4X on it and bore sighted it.
Range results were not bad at all for it's ilk, 1.50" MOA at 100 yards so I decided to keep it.
It came with a half box of 165 gr SP ammo and an extra mag.
