Been a long time since either of us had seen this movie.
I remember it being good. But it is from 1989.... has it held up?
Yes it has.
It is still a good movie. And making a SciFi movie stay good for 33 years is not easy.
It is not a great movie, it has problems, but it is thoroughly entertaining and suspenseful.
Having said that... it follows the Hollywood script:
1) All military personnel must be murderous madmen. Incapable of thinking, driven only by mindless violence.
2) The leading female must be smarter and better at everything than the leading male.
3) The leading male can't survive a day without the leading female saving him from his Neanderthal brain.
