14% of Americans would consider supporting Elon Musk's America Party

I posted an article on it once that explained it in detail. It's not so simplistic as it sounds. Same goes for term limits. Sounds good but if you really think it over well, it's not as great as it sounds. Here it is:

The uber rich are already beneficiaries of our current system. They need to be funded by the DNC or RNC to have a legitimate shot at anything.

What's the difference? ALL rich people would now have a chance instead of just the people supported by the very rich DNC/RNC?

You need to read every word of the article. It explains how one party can rig the system to give themselves the advantage.

Let's face it. Democrats and Republicans both have the system rigged so that only one of the two of them can win. Third parties are nothing but a protest vote. Ross Perot's Reform party got 20% of the vote years ago and won a grand total of zero electoral votes. Libertarians used to try like hell to attract 10% of the vote. This last election Chase Oliver had a goal of collecting 2% of the vote and wound up getting 1%. Now Musk's new America party has 14% support.

Elon has my support.

So, you aren't able to read? You are basically owning up to being a fact denier.
I read it and I wasn't impressed with it. He's clearly biased against it, referring to it as a "jungle" election throughout. Like it's really that ******* complicated to simply rank your preferred candidates in order. It's not that hard.

Furthermore, I already addressed the issue about it favoring the super wealthy. Not a good reason against it as we already have a problem with big money in politics.

The guy who wrote the article is a Democratic socialist and he's making the claim that it's bad for Democrats. I disagree with him on that, but that's his perspective, which is not in alignment with your opinion.

"Her bill was enacted chiefly because the combination of ranked choice and jungle elections poses a clear threat to the kind of progressive policies supported by the core Democratic Party institutions: unions, environmental groups, and minority rights groups, almost all of which have come together in Colorado to oppose that switch (also because none of them would welcome a Thiry governorship)"

Hence why I'm trying to discuss the article with you. Too much for you to handle apparently.

Musk might have had a chance to have an impact with this political party....before he sentenced millions of people to death by shutting down USAID.

But now it's dead on arrival.

I highly doubt it will get off the ground. If it does to any meaningful capacity, all it will achieve is handing over the Senate, House, maybe even the Presidency to the Democrats if it gets enough traction.

I am all for more viable political parties. We are the most diverse nation on the planet yet two parties dominate. The only reason Republicans have been successful is because Democrats have been hijacked by a radical Left wing and the Republicans had someone in Trump who was not afraid to be hated by Democrats and the Press. Both Bushes and definitely McLain and Romney wanted and needed to be liked by Democrats and their Press. Ironically, when these guys were running for President they got smeared and jeered by Democrats as intolerant racists and the Democrats were cashing checks from Trump. Now, Democrats love Bushes, McLain, and Romney and hate Trump.

News of recent days makes it sound like Elon likes Vance enough that he's thinking of tabling the America party idea and putting his support behind Vance. Here is one example of this news.

I've poo pooed the idea of a 3rd party for many years.

Perot was a freaking joke.

That said, the system is obviously rigged and it does make me want to imagine what my idea / ideals might be for a 3rd party.

I have some ideas, might start a thread about that some day.
I think I just did.
Thank you ! 😊
