Honestly... we had one running water spout on our property. It was harder to be cold... but if we kept coal we could bank the fires at night and they would not be so difficult to start in the mornings. The smell, though, from some of the coal stayed with us... Only enough water to cook with and do dishes was necessary for the coldest parts of the year, as we didn't go too many places and we moved like slugs, so we didn't really sweat. *hearts*
