    For me it wasn't "I want Obama to win" because really, I didn't like him much as a candidate either. But it finally became, "I want to make sure McCain loses" hence, the vote for Obama instead of not voting, or voting for some 3rd party candidate.

    Did you ever visit Edgar Allan Poe's home while living in Philly?

    I did, it was a self guided tour, the basement was SPOOKY!!

    On my way up from DC to Philly I also stopped at his burial site in Baltimore, also toured Fort McHenry.

    Poe was such a genius, more known for his short stories, but also an accomplished poet. He had a home in Baltimore also, but it was seasonal and closed when I was there.

    I have been to IH 3 times in my life. I LOVE it!!

    Yes, that statue of Commodore Barry is in back of IH. There is a statue of George Washington in front of IH.

    Christ church burial ground is the final resting place of 5 signers of the Declaration of Independence, including Benjamin Franklin.

    The Constitution Center is only about 7 years old, but it is also a must see in Philly.

    Carpenter's Hall is about 2 blocks east of IH, that is where the 1st Continental Congress met from Sept. 5 to Oct. 26, 1774.

    Congress Hall is adjacent, west, of IH. They met there form 1790-1800. The SC met at Old City Hall east of IH.

    Betsy Ross' house was fun to tour.

    The Liberty Bell pavillion is also a MUST see, right across the street/lawn from IH, north of. On my first visit in 1975 it was housed in IH, and I actually got to touch it. Now, although you can look right at it up close, no touching is permitted
