Um, no, that's called national sovereignty.
The Canal was on Egypt's territory. They have a right of eminent domain.
But this is about why Egypt gave the boot to its Jewish population. They ONLY did this AFTER the Zionist Entity colluded with France and the UK to seize the canal. Before that, there wasn't
It's only eminent domain if you pay the owners a reasonable price. Nassar didn't pay the Suez Company a dime for their multi-million-pound investment. He stole it by the use of armed force; all he did was to pay the stockholders the going price for their shares. So the Brits and French with a very minor assist from the Israelis stole it back for the proper, legal owners. Ike's response to pressure the Brits, French and israelis, gutten the UN forever. Here is an excerpt from the Wikki article:Um, no, that's called national sovereignty.

The American historian Arthur L. Herman said that the episode ruined the usefulness of the United Nations to support American ideals:
Suez destroyed the United Nations as well. By handing it over to Dag Hammarskjöld and his feckless ilk, Eisenhower turned the organization from the stout voice of international law and order into at best a meaningless charade; at worst, a Machiavellian cesspool. Instead of teaching Nasser and his fellow dictators that breaking international law does not pay, Suez taught them that every transgression will be forgotten and forgiven, especially if oil is at stake. ... Suez destroyed the moral authority of the so-called world community. Fifty years later, we are all still living in the rubble.[253]
