If the GOP doesn't pull the few really contentious seats, that says a lot about its own disfunctions as a party. Incumbent presidents party's typically do bad in midterms, and liberals typically have a harder time than conservatives. Not to mention Obama's ratings.

I would love to see the GOP flop, culminating in an interior power struggle between the Tea Party and the mainstream conservatives, but its not going to happen. Luckily, most of the republicans running in highly contentious elections are electable (aka moderate) so it probably wont amount to much even if they do end up kicking the Dems ass.
