WW II ~ Atom Bomb or Russia = Japan's Surrender in WWII ???

Yes they were. And as you have been told many times before, their only acceptable terms were a return to status quo ante December 5th, 1941. No war crimes trials, disarmament (if any) under the sole supervision of the Japanese military government and no change in the Japanese government. Their own ambassador to the Soviet Union told his own government that those preconditions were non-starters. There were excerpts from his and the government's telegrams posted earlier and a link to the total telegram file. The proposals were so ridiculous that Stalin's government and the Swedes refused to forward them to the WAllies.

..... their only acceptable terms were a return to status quo ante December 5th, 1941. ....
Wrong. The terms mentioned were exactly the ones we ultimately accepted after incinerating hundreds of thousands of civilians.

If you bother to actually read the article, every one of those messages was about UNOFFICIAL proposed terms offered by people NOT members of the Japanese government and who had neither authorization nor the power to offer them. The Japanese government's position on the Yalta peace terms which were the only ones the victors were willing to offer was to ignore them. They were like Donald Trump offering surrender terms to the Russian government for the Ukrainian government to cease fighting.

No period. Read the article, it only references NON-OFFICIAL approaches. The Japanese government totally rejected any attempts to end the war except the status quo ante one that IT proposed that no one else was going to accept. The Allies were not going to allow Japan to regroup and start another war in twenty years like Germany did.

Just because you keep posting that article its content won’t change. All it talks about are approaches from UNOFFICAL sources who neither had the power to propose anything nor to approve anything. The OFFICIAL Japanese government proposal was the return to status quo ante December 6th, 1941. No war crimes trials, no change of government and any disarmament at the pleasure of and controlled by the Japanese government. None of that was acceptable to ANY of the allies.
