I would prefer to have a combination of personal retirement account equating to 60% contribution and insurance policy for the remaining 40%, in event I should die, so my wife and children would receive benefits plus the personal contribution account tax free. 1.my proposal i have thoughtfully created grants the elimination of the SSA,and the general fund.At eighteen years of age,each us citizen will be advised of the creation of a future citizen investment fund account.

2.each account will be created based on each individuals SSN.thats the account number. And options are advised-
A.it will be a US TREASURY held money market account with an APY of 3%.

3.the citizen,having full control of their future,will have the option to either VEST or NOT VEST.
and,also...
the frequency,amount,and type of vesting deposit,which the citizen can change at any time.
after five years,any citizen can make a withdrawal,and start reinvesting.after all,citizens,not government,will have control.
after age 65,citizens are fully vested,abd can receive mobthly draws off their investment without limitation to any amount of privately earned income.

I am in full support of some sort of compromise between the Current abysmal Return of SS, and the UN-Predictability of Some other Investments. Seems to me there are plenty of very Safe Investment Vehicles, that would surely out Perform SS as far as Return for Money Invested.

The US government has proven they can not be trusted with the So Called SS Trust fund. I am all for getting as much money as we can out of those fucking fools hands.

Ask that question to democrat politicians and they will scream that they want it all and no stinkin citizen should have any control of their FICA taxes. When president Bush suggested that citizens should have control of a tiny portion of their Social Security and be able to pass it on to their heirs if they do not live long enough to collect the democrats in congress went crazy. They convinced Black families to be against the initiative even though Black men have the greatest statistical likelyhood of not collecting on the FICA taxes that were confiscated from their wages all their working lives.

When I retire, my SS check will be enough to pay my basic survival expenses, before I ever have to touch my 2 pensions. I am very glad the government took that money out of my check (and I never really missed it) all those years.

But that does have to be done slowly and incrementally just as it has accrued to avoid creating terrible hardship for poorer Senior Citizens that the government made dependent on Social Security. But yes, the government could provide incentive and help and protection for people to set up their own private investment accounts and gradually phase out Social Security.

Unfortunately Ed, your system is not getting wide publicity. And even if it is out there, it is being drowned out by the structured and organized caterwauling of the leftists who are demonizing Republicans and conservatives as evil selfish greedy people who want to take away the old people's social security and throw them out on the street.

Until we can educate the few who still have enough brain cells to think on their own that there is a muich more humane, effective, and intelligent way to take care of those old people, all efforts at any kind of reform are doomed to fail.
