    It would be nice if the build up to the loose were of a much shorter duration.

    We should do as they do in Europe.

    I think you get one month to campaign and then the vote.

    Would really work for me. Think of all the money they would save on TV adds and we wouldn't have to watch the damned things.

    Wouldnt it be better to live in the present, address our present problems and let the future take care of itself?

    Like the fact that we are broke. Shouldn't we address that?

    It's a tie-in with his SOTU speech. It continues his threat to tax the petroleum industry over $40 billion (see budget), and throw it into alternatives/renewables - that's the "win" for the "future".
