One of the many negative characteristics of conservatism (and there are many) is being consistently shortsighted. Conservatives planning ahead, well that just isn’t done. Conservatives learning from their mistakes, that certainly isn’t done.

Some proof of this conservative shortsightedness came as Hurricane Harvey wiped out Houston, and the Big Orange Idiot rolled back the Obama era regulation, which required the consideration of future flooding for federally funded buildings. This all but guarantees that Houston's city leaders, with the help of our Republican controlled government, will see to it that tens-of-billions of dollars are wasted rebuilding Houston just as it was. This assures Houston will be wiped out...again, just as happened with Hurricane Harvey.

The effects of the liberal hoax of global warming have become quite noticeable. As many have seen, the hurricane seasons are producing more intense storms and more of them each passing year.

Unfortunately, Houston is a city with a conservative majority, so they will welcome federal assistance in rebuilding, with no plans to reduce the property loss or the death toll of future hurricanes. Being conservatives, they cannot help but make the same mistakes over and over and over.

As we've all seen on these message boards, conservatives are self-proclaimed experts in all subjects, even those subjects they are unaware exist.

Yes, but until that happens, the average Americans will continue getting screwed by the fat cats and Big Business.

In Texas, Republican Donald Trump dominated in much of the state, while Hillary Clinton won in major urban areas and along much of the border. Here's a county-by-county look at where they won.

1. Summary Statement
Two frequently asked questions on global warming and hurricanes are the following:

  • Have humans already caused a detectable increase in Atlantic hurricane activity or global tropical cyclone activity
---
  • It is premature to conclude that human activities–and particularly greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming–have already had a detectable impact on Atlantic hurricane or global tropical cyclone activity. That said, human activities may have already caused changes that are not yet detectable due to the small magnitude of the changes or observational limitations, or are not yet confidently modeled (e.g., aerosol effects on regional climate).
