Will The Economy Be Barack Obama's "Vietnam?"...

I know many now believe Afghanistan will be Barack Obama's Vietnam but i actually think that the Economy will be Obama's Vietnam in the end. His policies seem to be sinking himself deeper & deeper into a Depression-like Quagmire. I know by next year just in time for the elections,they are going to be telling us that the economy is in full recovery and everything is just rosy but the reality will be something much different. His policies seem to be very dangerous and short-sighted. Unfortunately our children will be the ones who will suffer the most and pay the price in the future. In the end Barack Obama's Economic Quagmire will be far more damaging to our nation than any Wars we are currently engaged in. Lets hope i'm wrong but i don't think i will be.

As I may have mentioned before, Obama is about saving capitalism. And despite the wishes of his detractors from the reactionary side of politics and those in the more unrealistic bleachers on the progressive side of politics it looks as if he is going to pull it off. I sincerely hope so. Although I hail from the centre left (got that Pub?) I don't want to see the world's economy crash in a heap. Anyway, best of luck to him.

hmmmmmmmmm do some research.....the banking industry was deregulated under Carter along with the transportation industry. There was a world out there before Bush took office. Like i said,Hopey Changey is merely George Bush on Steroids at this point. There has been absolutely no change at all folks. Today he's begging Congress to raise the Debt Ceiling yet as Senator he voted against raising the Debt Ceiling. He actually even made a bunch of pious & lofty speeches opposing this. He did a lot to ensure he and his friends made a lot of money on this war. A lot. He was all about the rich. Cheney did pretty good with his old company, Halliburton as well.

Cheney made money for Halliburton out of the no bid reconstruction as I understand it. But I'm loathe to suggest that Cheney suggested the invasion and occupation of Iraq simply for profit. But it did cost the taxpayer quite a bit of money didn't it?
