Will NRA defend Michael Bandon Hill as a "responsible gun owner"?

He wasn't an irresponsible gun owner, but he certainly was an irresponsible gun possessor.

Chicago's full of those.

But the left is strangely silent.

Really? Because it looks like it gets talked about all the time.

It would be nice if we could shut down all those gun stores in Cicero that are intentionally selling to people in Chicago.

No and you know it.

No, how would I know that?

NRA says every responsible gun owner has the right to arm themselves with the weapon of their choice.

Michael Hill chose as his weapon an AK47 ....

It was not an AK 47.

An AK 47 is a rifle capable of fully automatic fire.

This rifle looked like an AK 47 but in reality was nothing but a semiautomatic rifle just like any other semiautomatic rifle.

He wasn't an irresponsible gun owner, but he certainly was an irresponsible gun possessor.

And I would posit that the police should be paying a visit to the owner of the weapon in question...

What reason would the police have for visiting the owner? Unless of course to tell him that they have his weapon and it will be returned to him when they no longer need it for evidence.

Anyone that carries a rifle onto school isn't a responsible gun owner.

Which renders your question as total bullshit.

It gets talked about by conservatives. Liberals?

Not so much.

Look at the hundreds of hours of television time and all the newspaper and internet articles devoted to the Martin killing.

Compared to that, there is next to nothing reported about Chicago's murders.

So, when will the Right fix the law that allows Indiana guns to be sold to non-Indiana residents? That's where those Chicago guns come from.
Chicago PD says you're wrong.
Where 50,000 Guns Recovered in Chicago Came From
The Chicago Police Department traced the origins of about 50,000 guns that it recovered between 2001 and March 2012.
More than half of those guns came from outside the state.

Chicago is seen as having some of the most restrictive gun ordinances in the country. Gun shops are banned, and no civilian gun ranges exist. There is a ban on both assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. But more than 15,000 of the guns traced by the police came from just outside the city limits in Cook County and in neighboring towns that permit gun stores.

Illinois 22,051
Indiana 7,747
Mississippi 4,296
Wisconsin 1,647
Kentucky 1,226
Ohio 1,121
Tennessee 1,090
Alabama 1,070
Arkansas 944
Texas 937
Looks like Cook County needs to clean up its mess instead of blaming others.

But liberals don't do that very well, do they?
chicago shootings
About 17,200,000 results

trayvon martin shooting
About 114,000,000 results

Almost 7 times as many results for Trayvon as for Chicago as a whole.

So it looks like I was right, doesn't it?

Oh, and thanks for admitting that NBC, MSNBC, CBS, HuffPo, and the Sun-TImes are all liberal news sources.

This incident certainly does show that, no, it doesn't take a good man with a gun to thwart a bad man with the gun.

Obviously, he wasn't very interested in using that gun.
Why is that? Because he was able to be talked down?
No. Because he let himself be talked down.
We can see that you are disappointed. :(
You see wrong. Irrational gun-haters are disappointed that they don't have a pile of dead children to stand on and screech that we have to do something about guns -- "For the children!!"

Well, that's true. When you have 32,000 gun deaths a year, you really don't have time to talk about every last one of them.

The Martin killing was unique in that the system gave a creep a free child murder, so you can kind of understand why that stands out... Well, sane people can, anyway.

Was wondering if this guy might just be JoeB.

This is some hysterical shit folks........

If you want to see how much of a jackass JoeB is, just watch the vid!!!:2up:

Just to keep it real here........

Harvard University just completed a long research study in April of 2013!!!

Their conclusion???

more guns = less crimes

Its not even debatable!!!:banana::2up::banana::2up::banana::2up::banana::2up:

Many people believe that owning guns only increases the amount of crime. However, a recent study published in the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy concluded that there is a negative correlation between gun ownership and violent crime in countries internationally. In other words, the more guns the less crime. The study showed that nations with strict gun control laws have substantially higher murder rates than those who do not. In fact, the 9 European nations with the lowest gun ownership rate have a combined murder rate that is three times that of the nine European nations with the highest gun ownership rate.

Having a society with more guns appears to not only reduce violent crime and keep citizens safe, but also dissuades dangerous criminals from wanting to approach people with guns. According to the study, three out of five polled felons say that they won't mess with an armed victim. .

Does Owning Guns Reduce Crime?

Again, from your quote:

Google results?

What percentage of those are bots? You're clueless, grasping at internet hits as your 'evidence'.

I used sources which you consider Liberal in order to show that you are wrong - there is coverage from local and national.
