Why

would anyone want to be a tourist in Pakistan?

I read that those that just got shot and killed were mountain climbers. So their passion would bring them to the Himalayas.

It's reported that the Taliban have vowed to kill tourists in revenge for the drone strikes. And they made good on their promise.

The climbers were staying at a base camp for Nanga Parbat, which at 8,126 metres is the second highest mountain in Pakistan and the ninth highest in the world.

It has an incredibly beautiful landscape, and very deep history. Granted So do many other places that don't have the same security concerns.

True. I would love to see certain places there, but the risk to personal safety is too high. I am sad for those people, but I think they didn't use good judgment.

If they are mountain climbers, they are, inherently, risk takers.
