because he opined that some punishment should be administered if they broke the law. I have no idea what the punishment should be...but why have a law that, when violated, carries no penalty. Perhaps a fine...the money could be donated to the BLM movement to allow the left to feel good about the punishment for killing a child.

I'm pro-choice, and I agree with what Trump said. If abortion was against the law even the women should be punished. If you're caught buying drugs they don't only punish the drug dealer.

I'd respect if he did say it and stick with it . Instead he changed his tune like 3x in a matter of hours .

and a sound bite like "the women should be punished ". Is a dream come true for the HILLARY PAC anti trump ads to come . Lol!

Like it really matters as all PRO DEATH women wouldn't vote for him in the first place,

If Republicans are stupid enough to nominate Trump, we'll take his 21% approval rating with women down to single digits by unleashing a barrage of nasty, demeaning, mysogynistic comments he's made over the years.
Too bad the RNC will never let Trump get the nomination.

Trump is the perfect General for the gop war against women .

"The battle of the bulge will be yuuuuuuge!"

Trump was just being logical. He said what others don't have the courage to say.

Think about it.

If abortion is murder, then, logically, it follows that abortion should carry a murder charge.

This is why...

The Republicans want Big Government to monitor every pregnancy, such that every woman must legally register her pregnancy with a bureaucratic agency. At which time the government will track the women's progress until the government-monitored pregnancy is taken to term. Under this scenario a women who is raped must, under threat of prison or the death penalty, give birth to a child against her will. In order to do this the government will create a whole new agency to monitor American families.

Under Trump miscarriages will be turned into crime scenes, with government prosecutors trying to prove negligent homicide in cases where a women did not take appropriate precautions. Every women who seeks information on an abortion or takes preliminary steps toward an abortion will be treated like a potential murder. Whole new layers or surveillance will be created to monitor women and protect the unborn.

Folks, if you thought government got big under George Bush, than you ain't seen nothing yet. The Republican Party of Donald Trump will build a gestapo-like regime around the sexual activity of women. Women who don't register their pregnancy with Trump's Federal Anti-Abortion Agency will be fined.

Hide your contraceptives because it's just a short leap from banning abortion to banning the Pill.

The OP doesn't get it. He claims to represent the party of small government, yet his candidate for president is going to create a whole new Reproduction Bureaucracy.

I'd love to teach the OP about the unintended consequences of giving government this much power, but, in my experience, Republicans simply cannot imagine what could go wrong with creating another government agency - one charged with monitoring the outcome of every pregnancy. God help you if you have a miscarriage, because Trump's jackbooted thugs are going to be waiting outside the hospital with an arrest warrant. Families will have to prove to the state that the miscarriage was unavoidable.

Ever since Reagan the Republican Party has been giving more and more power to government. What Trump said about abortion was merely the logical outcome of his party's assumptions.
