I just don't understand why Republicans aren't more "Proud" of who they are.
When I say the Republican Party is 90% white, why should that be an "insult"? Why do they deny it? They should be proud. They've managed to "hold together" and keep a certain level of "purity".
When Republicans insist they don't pander to rich people, who cares what others believe? If you believe rich people are going to "trickle down" on you and "create jobs", you should support them. After all, they support you, right?
And if you believe corporations motivated by profit would run this country better than people you voted into office who come from your community, then "Yes", you should do everything you can to help those corporations and not try to hide it. Or worse, "deny" it. Be proud, stand up for what you believe.
The worst thing a Republican can say is, "Democrats do it too". It makes Republicans look like they have no convictions. Instead, they should say, "We did what we felt was right" and leave it at that.
Instead of trying to fight those who believe science by making up fancy sounding words like, "Irreducible Complexity", just say, "don't bother, we don't care to know". It's way more honest.
When it comes to gays, just tell the truth. You don't care if someone calls you a "homophobe". So what. Just tell the truth. "We don't like gays and we want to make their lives as miserable as possible". Don't use "nature" as an "excuse". You don't have to answer to those you don't like.
As far as "education", again, who cares? You got as far as you got without an education. You have "common sense". Just leave it at that. People only attack what they think makes the other guy mad.
On "Foreign Policy", who cares what people from other countries think? They're "foreign".
If you believe the elderly need to be more "self sufficient" and play a larger role in taking care of themselves, then make them do it. You've got to do what you think is right. Besides, they've lived their lives. It's not right for them to be a burden on you, right?
I think Republicans have lost some confidence. They need to step back and be proud of who they are. Everything they accomplished under the Bush Administration. Everything they've done since taking back the House. Gloat about the many ways they've helped the economy.
