Uh ... Of course that's not what it means.

It means that more than 95 million people own firearms than are active supporting members of the NRA.
It means it is fucking foolish to think that bashing the NRA means squat to anything more than a fraction of gun owners.

It means when nit-wits on the left want to use the NRA as an accurate representation for those who support firearm ownership ...
They are just a bunch of ignorant dupes.

Those data points suggest an interesting question: Are civilians at higher risk of dying due to being unlawfully and fatally shot in the course of going about civilian life than are military personnel while actively serving?

The numbers speak very clearly on their own. More people have died in the US by gun since 1968 than have all of our soldiers in every war combined. You are safer to go to war and fight on the front lines than to remain a civilian in the US.

This is a lie. Another lie by the anti gun extremists, that falls apart as soon as you look at it.....

The American people use their guns 1,500,000 times a year to stop violent criminal attack......

Criminals murder about 10-11 thousand people a year.....

49 years is the number of years given......so...

    1,500,000 times a year X 49....

73,500,000 times that guns are used in self defense......

Gun violence given 11,000 people a year murdered by criminals, 70-80% of the victims are criminals.....

    11,000 X 49 =

    539,000

Total war dead for the first 100 years of our countries existence...

United States military casualties of war - Wikipedia

1,354,644 And those are all deaths, even ones not directly on the battlefield.....

And again...defensive use of guns comes to 73,500,000 times that guns are used in self defense......using the number from the bill clinton Department of Justice research on gun violence and barak obama's Centers for Disease control research on all gun data...

    That is a lie...

Why is it anti gunners have to lie all the time.....?

Because the facts, the truth and reality do not support their belief system...

    Off-Topic:
The information you provided is insufficient to answer the question I asked. Risk of the sort about which I asked is partly a function of the size of the two populations as well as the measurement period . Simply knowing that more people died from gunshots since 1968 than did people who died in all U.S. does not ask about the question I asked because the question I asked pertains to the risk of being shot for two separate groups: civilians going about civilian life and soldiers/military personnel actively serving.

Were it so that the information you provided indeed answered the question I asked, I wouldn't have said, "Those data points suggest an interesting question." Instead I'd have simply "done the math" to deduce the answer, whereupon I'd have simply declaratively presented that math and the answer. Raw counts affect risk calculations, but they are not the sole determinant of risk.

Well that is not true. With Facebook you tell millions, not dozens and your screed does not disappear when you leave the park. The anonymity increases the sense of power. Get real.

    Data, is that you?

I intentionally left out comment in my original post. The data speaks louder than anyone could.
