Why Should

Now that is so pathetic. You got your butt beat. Get used to it. Your way is over. You had the chance but hubris prevented anything worthwhile being done.

Oh, the insurance industry should have been given more time? What makes you think for even a silly second they would do it. And did our Republican majority with a Republican president tell them to do it?

This is a pox on our GOP house, and we brought it on ourselves.

if there are new federal laws and regulations Jake... like the pre-existing condition and no dropping issue....then they have to work within that or they wont be able to function....so yeah...give them the chance to work those in.....its their industry....they either adjust or die....and it wont be a monstrosity of an expense on the tax-payer....

That is the point, of course. The insurance industry now has to work those points into the system. Let's see if competition for the new 32mm clients will drive down costs.

WillowTree, the bill has no cost containment features, and after last night, this Congress is not going to be able to change that, I don't think.

If it works, good for the country. If it doesn't, then the GOP will have something to campaign against.

But the premiums will come down as the competition heats up for those customers.

Also, think of the job creation in medical fields, construction of facilities and associated industries, so forth and so on.

but what about the coverage?.....as the premiums come down.....will what you get come down too?....

More importantly who wants to compete for the high risk consumer? The possibility you will profit from such a customer is minimal. Increases paperwork load and claims. No thank you.

Then don't compete, savesliberty insurance company. Keep your premiums high. That is your choice.

I learned a long time ago competing for the low bids is crazy. Finding the quality customers who appreciate quality and are willing to pay a fair but slightly higher price is best.

In medicine, that will most likely mean the lower skilled doctors will be available for the high risk premium customers.

That may well be so, but it also means that folks will have access where they have not had it before. No child should have to go to the ER for primary care.

so its ok to have the half-ass Doctors.....you go first....

Also, it is apparently ok for adults to go to the ER for primary care. Where they will find substandard health care. Good news, I suspect there will be many great plastic surgeons in the next few years. Since that will be cash or hign-end health care policy, that is where the money will be.
