WASHINGTON -- Senate Republicans have insisted that no matter who President Barack Obama nominates for the Supreme Court, there will be no hearings, no votes, no nothing. But there may be one potential candidate that Republicans would have a hard time blocking: Obama could appoint constitutional law professor Barack Obama.

There's roughly a zero percent chance this'll happen, but here's why it makes sense: Appointing Obama would put the GOP in the position they've desperately wanted to be in since the man was inaugurated. They'd have the chance to vote him out of office. If he's truly as dangerous and illegitimate a president as Republicans say, then this is their opportunity to get him out of the White House by putting him on the court.

This would be a great idea!!! President Biden for the next 10 months!!! Then clinton or Bernie...Then Obama could live another 30 years.

He is retired from law, which means he hasn't had to do anything required to maintain his license. His experience was as community organizer and politics, neither of which qualifies him for SCOTUS. He hasn't achieved anything notable as a lawyer and he hasn't even shown good judgment the last 7 years. He'd be a poor choice considering he thinks he can wave his magic pen and create whatever laws, or ignore whatever laws, he wants. He isn't about upholding the constitution, he is about changing it and we cannot allow anyone to become a Supreme Court justice unless they intend to obey the constitution.

I wouldn't necessarily say a sitting President is "retired from law", whether you agree with him or not. He doesn't have a license to practice law which has less than nothing to do with the ability to serve on the Supreme Court. But, it could be Obama, the devil or Jesus Christ, the GOP will vote down whoever Obama nominates. We know this because they've already said so.

You've lost your mind.

Since your first part is actually wrong... You then go on to talk about the Constitution which you proven by the first bit, you don't know...

So you are really less than useless in the discussion...

Oh?

And what makes you the preeminent authority on the Constitution? Obama is hardly qualified, seeing as how the SCOTUS has handed down multiple 9-0 rulings against him. If he can manage to get ALL of the Justices to disagree with him on his policies MORE THAN ONCE, he has no business sitting on that bench.

So what you're telling me is that Obama should play exactly the kind of political games you're bitching about Republicans playing?

Obama is officially retired from law. His choice. And any person intent on legislating from the bench needs to be voted down. He looks for people with a specific agenda who will ignore current laws to make things happen. Judges who have adhered to the constitution have been hated by the left.

Apart you wouldn't like him to be , which guess what? Not an actual reason to legally refuse someone.... Again you didn't know that he was quailified and then went spouting crap about the constitution without knowing it... You look like and idiot.

He has all the qualifications democrats look for in a SC justice and none of the ones that used to count.

Matty! How many times must I tell you paint chips are not a breakfast food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Supreme Court Justice doesn't need a law license.

I think Obama really feels he's the most qualified anyway.
He usually feels he's the smartest person in any room.

Obama doesn't even know Judicial Review. If a democratically passed law comes before him, he must affirm it

“Ultimately, I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress,” Barack "judicial review wuzzdat???" Obama April 2, 2012
