Why not reinstate protectionism?

Governments are the best at doing just one thing. Protection.

We can think of government as protection biz.

Libertarianism is great for most things except one, protection.

A libertarian country is often weak and attacked by Tonga

We have tons of refugee and those refugee actually have tons of land. Those refugee will prosper if only they are save. There is no need to bring them to Europe.

Countries like Israel and US are powerful enough to protect people.

Land price in conflict countries are cheap.

I got an idea.

Why not allow people on some cheap land to ask for protection? UN can have authority of those places. The protector can have influence how the country is run. It can be negotiated. And that's it.

Or we can set a corporation to own the land. We set the stock ownership of the corporation. Pay US for some protection money. And then make sure the stuff is save.

The protector must maintain that crime rate is below certain percentage and to keep ISIS out. Get cash in return.

This is a good way to "try out" various ideology and to see which one works.
