Why should it cost consumers more? Don't the oil companies make enough money? That is why raising the minimum wage might not work and hasn't in the past, because its all passed on to the consumer, even instead of part being taken from the corp and consumer, but no its all passed to the consumer. The corps need to pay CEOs and keep their investors happy.

Oh don't be so naïve. Lots of people would pump gas, and clean windshields for say 15 an hour, out of the business's income of course, its cold in the north country. Unfortunately the rich need to keep and maintain their lifestyle and don't want to pay unemploy ins, comp and Fica, let along a hourly wage and so they make the customer pump their own. So their tax rate can be 50% and well corp tax at 15. Don't want them to go out of business. In the meantime, I hope they know they are liable for all the stupid people that pump their own gas, a few accidental lawsuits will probably change their mind.
