Why isn't this the ONLY story we're talking about?

"NASA: 1 Year of Water Left for California

Plagued by prolonged drought, California now has only enough water to get it through the next year, according to NASA. In an op-ed published Thursday by the Los Angeles Times, Jay Famiglietti, a senior water scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, painted a dire picture of the state's water crisis. California, he writes, has lost around 12 million acre-feet of stored water every year since 2011. In the Sacramento and San Joaquin river basins, the combined water sources of snow, rivers, reservoirs, soil water and groundwater amounted to a volume that was 34 million acre-feet below normal levels in 2014. And there is no relief in sight."

Human beings can go quite a while without food. But we die without water in about 3 days. Once California's out of water, life in California will be unsustainable. Even bringing it in from elsewhere, there will be draconian rationing like in the post-apocalypse movies. Agriculture will cease to exist. Cities in the desert will be abandoned since only fresh water makes they livable. And the country's largest economy will collapse.

But this isn't what we're talking about on CNN, Fox, or MSNBC?

Some here have said they would celebrate the destruction of California.

Those same people don't realize that this is the future we all face.

Once California runs out, neighboring states will divert some of their's to California hastening their own state running out. Domino effect that wont end with California.

This is what happens when 40 million people live in a state that already lacked resources from the very start.

You can blame climate change all you like, but California is an area that simply cannot sustain this many people by itself even if the climate were normal for the region.
