i'm against the surveillance society too, but with just a little bit of an actually smart mind, it's easy to circumvent it.

you overthrow the government by dying yourself, or getting beaten down or getting imprisoned after peaceful demonstrations,
not by revolutionary actions. that's known as a coup d'etat, and is guaranteed to bring the same level of corruption right back into the next government from the ranks of the superwealthy.
and if your leaders or your demonstrators get assasinated by 'the gestapo', the people demonstrating should just push forward a next leader who is willing to die for the cause.
and so on.
until the changes start happening, and diplomacy finally starts.

why?
because you want the whole ordeal to actually produce meaningful change, AND get recorded in the history books as a total win for the demonstrators (except for, of course, the casualties)
