Clinton didn't have 911, Iraq War,Afgan War, Katrina-Resultant damage to New Orleans, Rita, spiked Gas Prices, .com-plunge..and the expansive/resultant unemployment, etc...........He had Lewinsky, bombing Aspirin factories, the Rah-Rah Bosnia campaign, Black-Hawk down.....and other major self-inflicted events....

That 70% rating is for a very average prez.......who had some very questionable ethics...........a poor role-model for American males considering the merits of future/successful marital bliss.
The .com bliss in America kept this presidents polls up high.......economically happy Americans(I being one too) will overlook just about anything in a leader as long as good old # 1(me-us) isn't adversely affected. Economy starts to stink.....and all the other associated fall-out, and the typical self-centered American....starts scape-goating, rather than looking within. It's a sad, weak side to human nature. It's also more prevalent in the "me, myself, and I" generations, that didn't have to work very hard for anything. They've got their porn/sex on the internet, instant microwave meals, GPS equipped cars, cell phones, TIVO, etc. Neighborhood Watch is a thing of the past......as it's everyone for themselves. The hell with women and children in the life boats first.........A very sad thing indeed.
President Clinton and Monica could have mud-wrestled in the nude on Spike channel, and his poll numbers would have stayed high. The shallowness of so many Americans in the ethics deptmt. is dismal.
The rise in abhorance towards Judeo-Christian ethics, can be closely correlated with President Clinton's high poll ratings during what would have been considered disgraceful behaviour just 20 years earlier.
American church non-attendance has set all-time records in the last 10 years, and there seems to be no change. So why is there any surprise that William Clinton's poll numbers should be high, though his adminstration was "rocked" with scandal.

Human nature............who had the Cajones to stop the Romans from crucifying an innocent man.........not one.........that's the dismal condition of the human race.........with out ethics.....or a spiritual/moral compass.
We as Americans would rather shout, "Free Barrabas!, Than support a righteous man/cause.

Our country has been blasted with "freedom" to do any and all things....as a "right". Man-Boy love organizations are granted the right to exist.........as the ACLU protects it. what has come of this great nation?
Now an Oregon court just ruled that public sex acts are protected under the Constitution. My question, is who protects the unprotected from those that are protected?
Rome.......collapsed from within...........and if you study history, you'll find that it co-incided with moral-ethical decay of it's populous/society.

We are becoming like unreasoning animals......just obeying the whims of our bodies......ignoring our consciences. This is not the America of such a short time ago. We applaude a President that gets away with fornication and escapes the out-fall of impeachment. Is it because we ourselves are fearful of being hypocrites if we point out "wrong". If we feel that we are hypocritical to do so, is that also not an indictment on our own individual selves, that we are morally compassed in error?
Where will this downward spiral end......?
