We had our chance at election time, and the people put the same career politicians right back in. Obama just gave congress and his cabinet all pay raises, and now he just gives presidents armed guards for life, at our tax expense.

This administration is going to make it financially good for themselves, and to heck with the people in this country. Its all about what the politicians can gain and get. They are raking in the money while the citizens struggle to pay debts.

They talk about us people having to scarifice durning these hard times, yet they give to themselves anything they need. The scarifices should start with them. They need to cut their pays, and they damn sure don't need armed guards for the rest of their intire lives....nor do we need to pay them salaries after they are out of office..............where is the outraged and voice from the people.?????????

I feel that people should pray. They should do it publically, openly, everywhere. This includes in PUBLIC SCHOOLS. I feel that government has no right to make limits where people can pray, how they pray, where they pray, or WHO KNOWS THAT A PRAYER IS TAKING PLACE. If authorities are going to arrest people for praying, it is far better than getting arrested for throwing rocks or waving banners. GOD can at least do something for this nation and I believe HE will protect those who honestly and fervantly pray for help and guidance in His name. If the authority is embarrassed by its citizen praying, it only make the officals look small and petty. So pray that the President sees the light. Pray that the government respects its citizens. Pray for the poor, that those in need really get help and that those who are only sponging get healthy godly direction to straighten out their lives. Pray for the military that they consider what is righteous and not what is POLITICALLY CORRECT. Pray for those in prision, that they might see God trying to get them back in line and that the things they have done are really hurting everyone and not just themselves. Pray for the students in school that are faced with right and wrong everyday and no not what they do. Pray for this nation that it strives to do GOD's will and not be selfish. PRAY. That is something EVERYONE can do.

What is truly amazing is that if Obama did win the election fair and square how low informed are those who voted for him. First of all someone questioned him giving raises out, and he did, but apparently the low informed voters don't know or are calling an increase in pay something other then a raise.

Second in order to be happy with what is going on one has to ignore the enormous debt bubble that is getting ready to burst. The situation today in which blue collar labor is basically chattel, moved back and forth between public and private support systems, is not any part of my vision for the United States. The US has been poorly led since Johnson and incompetently led since Carter - no exceptions. Reagan tripled the debt, Clinton finished Reagan's idiotic deregulation of avarice, Bush invaded the wrong countries for the wrong reasons, and Obama is literally hapless.

But complaining is not my style. My style is to stump congressscum visiting district post offices and humiliate local officials in public. In a fairly upscale restaurant recently, I asked a judge when police finding illegal drugs in a vehicle with an infant in it stopped being a change in circumstance for custody consideration. The filthy incompetent scum suggested he shouldn't be questioned in public. The discussion didn't last long, he and his family left. Humiliated as they all should have been.

To answer your question, most of humanity are little better than cattle. They need care and feeding and directed by the dogs of commerce or war. Few people know what they want, let alone how to get it. Making a bad situation worse, the rules are malleable; legal contests today are more often won by money than by reason.

My theory:

Anger, hunger and pain are all that motivate individuals to act against authority.

If there has ever been a case of someone mis-understanding their audience, your post is it.

The point of message boards or at least this one is to engender a response. So the posts veer toward one extreme or another. Nobody from the doom an gloom side of the coin (Grumps, Oddball, LGS, Beretta, Nova, Werwhatever, 007, etc...) really think it is that bad here. Otherwise, they would have left the fucking country. How many have left. Zero.

This despite the "civil war" predictions that were voiced in the run up to the election.

The truth is that things are not that bad in this nation--nor have they ever been that bad when held up to the barometer of the rest of the world.

What you're also not understanding is the gun culture. While I will allow that guns are what you resort to when you can't reason with others, there ARE unreasonable people out there so in one narrow window, owning an arsenal that you'll never use makes sense. In the macro, however, the gun culture demographic is, well, frankly made up of those who are not that bright and can't think 2 moves ahead on the chessboard; much less what to do post-outcome. There is a reason they have to resort to violence or the threat of violence. It isn't usually because they've tried reasoning first.
