Russia won U.S. approval Sunday to join the World Trade Organization , the last major hurdle for membership.

The accord, signed during an Asian summit in Vietnam attended by presidents Bush and Vladimir Putin, may give a new spark to a relationship that is at a post-Cold War low.

Good question. Democrats need to launch an investigation into the Bush family and connections to Russia.

A better question would be...why did Democrats and the unions BANKRUPT the US steel industry back in the 1980's...???

that is called THE MARKETPLACE

The OP has inadvertently stumbled upon a serious issue. Washington politicians use American jobs and industries to purchase favors from other countries, China, Russia, etc. Haven't you wondered why Washington looks the other way while these countries steal our jobs and wreck our industries, while blocking us from selling American products in their countries? Ever wonder why Washington looks the other way while these countries outright steal our intellectual property, designs, after we spend all the money on R&D then flood our country with cheap knock offs? Now you know, Washington politicians use American jobs and industry as a type of currency to purchase favors.

What kind of a moron would object to this? They can't take a steel mill back to Russia (well, I suppose they could dismantle it, ship it, etc, but that's not what we're talking about here).

SeverStal operated steel mills in America for many years, kept lots of Americans employed who otherwise probably would not have been employed.

Good thing, not bad thing.

How is US Steel doing, how is that unionized org doing. That is one reason for the trade war , because the more we export the more that the Russian oligarchs make.
Owners of western Canada’s biggest steel company on U.S. Treasury’s new ‘Putin list’

It's simple. Steel is immoral. You can build fences with it...killing children.
